How the spine-lock works Unlike a plain bookend, each slot has a spine-lock post. The post sits between the binder's plastic cover and its metal rings, which anchors that binder so it cannot tip or slide when you pull out the one next to it. Each binder gets its own slot instead of leaning against the others across the shelf.
