Maruichikyu carves her designs into erasers and prints them by hand, so the edges are soft and slightly off-register. The shortcake slices on this roll have that handmade wobble, which is the whole charm of it.

This roll is a collaboration with the Japanese stamp artist Maruichikyu, printed from her hand-carved eraser stamps. Layered plates give each slice of cake its cream, sponge and strawberry in slightly imperfect registration. It is made from traditional washi that tears by hand and lifts again without residue.
