Standard Wa Lace Tape | Pavilio

Standard Wa lace tape carries a die-cut traditional Japanese-inspired pattern from Pavilio's Standard series, with the design pressed cleanly into the washi paper. The word 'wa' refers to harmony, and the cut motif holds that feel, a small repeating shape that flows along the tape without competing for attention. Layer it over a contrasting color and the cut-outs become small windows that reveal what sits beneath. Use it as a finished border, a divider, or a quiet detail on letters and journal pages.

Notes from The Fox

Standard Wa is the tape we pick up when a page needs a quiet Japanese reference. The die-cut pattern is small enough to read as texture, and the design pulls naturally from traditional paper craft. It pairs beautifully with kraft, the Palette greens, and anything in the cream-to-tan range. We use it most often on letters and recipe pages.

FAQ

Q: What makes lace tape different from regular washi tape?
A: Pavilio's lace tape is precision die-cut into decorative patterns, so the washi paper has actual cut-out shapes running through it. Standard washi tape is a solid strip with no cut-outs, which makes lace tape feel more like a paper trim than a typical roll of tape.

Q: How fragile is the lace pattern?
A: It is more delicate than standard washi tape, so handle the roll gently and avoid stretching the tape when you apply it. The die-cut structure rewards careful use with beautiful, intricate detail that holds up well once placed.

Q: How wide is this tape?
A: 15mm, which is about 0.6 inches. It is the standard washi tape width, and the lace cut-outs make a big visual impact at this size.
